Black Friday 2024: Deals for Musicians and Music Lovers

If you're a musician or a music lover, Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to snag deals on everything from instruments to tech tools that support your craft. Here's a curated list of the best deals for this year's shopping extravaganza, tailored to a diverse range of musical needs and hobbies.

Essential Gear for Musicians

Apple iPads: AA game-changer for managing sheet music, recording, or composing. UK retailers like John Lewis, Currys, and Amazon are offering discounts on models from the 9th generation to the iPad Pro. Combine this with the ForScore app for efficient sheet music organisation.

Donner Bluetooth Page Turner: A must-have for musicians using digital sheet music, now available at a discount on Amazon. These are great if you're reading music from an iPad as they allow you to turn the page using your feet!

High-Quality Music Stands:  Retailers are offering deals on sturdy and adjustable stands for sheet music and tablets. Look for models from Hercules and K&M at reduced prices. Here's the one I use for my Alto Saxophone.

Subscriptions and Digital Resources

MusicJobsTake advantage of a 50% discount on annual memberships, giving musicians access to jobs, networking opportunities, and industry insights. I've used this many times myself in the past for job hunting.

Tomplay: Save on subscriptions to this excellent interactive sheet music app, which allows you to play along with customisable backing tracks and advanced playback features. You'll find so many of your favourite pieces in their catalogue, and it's so much fun to play along with music. Definitely a must if you're trying to improve your sight-reading, improvisation or looking for a fun way to enhance your practice.

Sibelius: Avid is offering Black Friday deals on all Sibelius tiers, including their Ultimate plan, perfect for composing and arranging music professionally.

Headspace: This is always one of my top recommendations to students who struggle with nerves or finding themselves 'in their head' when they're playing. Even if you don't struggle with nerves, this app is perfect for anyone looking to explore mindfulness. Black Friday offers include 40–50% off annual subscriptions.

Instruments for Every Musician

Sax.co.uk Deals: I use this website myself a lot (and I also know they owner!). They are offering discounts on saxophones, reeds, and mouthpieces. There are some really great deals in here if you know what you're looking for.

Charvel Guitars:
Save up to 30% on premium guitar models at UK retailers such as Andertons.

Yamaha Music: Yamaha is a household name for quality musical instruments, and their UK website is featuring Black Friday deals across a wide range of products. From pianos and keyboards to guitars, wind instruments, and even audio equipment, Yamaha offers something for musicians at every level.

Pro Tips for Black Friday Shopping

1. Buy Only If You Need It: Don't be tempted by flashy discounts unless it's something you've already been considering. Stick to your wishlist and avoid overspending

2. Check Prices Carefully
: Ensure that you're getting a genuine deal. Sites like PriceSpy can help you track price histories and ensure you're not falling for what looks like a discount, but was really an inflated original price.

3. Shop from Trusted Retailers: Stick to reputable stores that you know like Sax.co.uk or John lewis to ensure quality and proper warranties on your purchase.

Disclosure: These recommendations are my personal picks for Black Friday deals that I believe are genuinely valuable for musicians, or products that.I myself use. I have included some affiliate links, which means I earn a small commission if you purchase through them - this helps support the site at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support!
